building_phase1_3You might not know this but…we have started a building project.

Week in, week out hundreds of people come through the building to experience the love of God in action. We are so pleased and privileged to have people that love and are willing to serve our local community.

As a result we wanted to expand our building in order to expand the care for our community and also the space to meet together for worship.

The builders came in and got started on the new offices…I thought we could show you some of the progress.

Summer Fun…Big Kids included

By Sarah Hodge, PlayPeople Leader, on Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Last session at PlayPeople…sad we know, but we did have our very own Summer Fair.

Ark Farm joined us in the Car Park, where we had all sorts of animals, even 3 week old chicks. We also had games galore…Face Painting, Lucky Dip, Bouncy Castle, Name the Bear, How many sweets in the Jar, Ice Cream van, Giant Games, Plant your own Seeds, and a Puppet & Magic show entertainer!
‘Giant Picnic’ was the order for lunch and we enjoyed it all together…
It was fun for the whole family and as a team we thoroughly enjoyed planning and making the Fair an ultimate start to the summer.
We had an amazing turn out of 67 adults and 87 children! Even Martin Tibbert couldn’t resist the fun..he’s a big kid really.
PlayPeople starts back September 17th and if you would like more info about PlayPeople and what goes on week to week click here.

BV Garden Party

By Jo Kendall, on Friday, July 12, 2013

Sunshine, an abundance of food and a Wimbledon victory.

This years BV barbecue was another fantastic success. Whilst it wasn’t quite strawberries and cream the mountains of Eton Mess and Pimms, became the perfect way to cheer Andy Murray on to victory, whilst all those who weren’t interested in sport enjoyed the sunshine and a good catch up!bbqbv-news-full

Coming back changed

By dan.copperwheat, on Thursday, July 4, 2013

Becca Charles, a member of  this years FP impact team, took a trip out to Albania with a team. Becca shares with us here how it went and what some of here highlights were:

“From the 7th-18th June, I was in Elbasan in Albania on the 2013 Bedford Based FP mission trip, with 11 FP students and 3 chaperones.

Home-changedWe were involved in the church services, a kid’s party and with the church’s street kids outreach, which is for the boys that are sent out to get money either by begging or stealing, or otherwise find things to help support the family.

The outreach is every Tuesday and Saturday from 10am-2pm and the kids are loved, and given a place where they are free to just be children. On the Saturdays they are also taught Bible truths, food is always provided, and brushing teeth is enforced. During that time we were able to help practically too! We spent time painting the basement which was a great support to the Church.

In order to stay focused, we had at least one time of worship each day, and God always came powerfully and encouraged us individually, as a team. He spoke about His kingdom coming to where we were serving. As we encountered God and saw Him move in the church we grew as a team and all came home changed.”
