This year, for our Christmas offering, we will donate our offering in two ways:
Our Woodside Community - Linking Lives Bedford
Our befriending service reaches across Bedford to isolated and lonely members of our community. Befrienders meet with their link friends weekly to break the cycle of loneliness and help to link them with their local community. The service brings much needed friendship, joy and life into the homes of those who are unable to reach out. At this time of year loneliness can feel all the more intense and for this reason we wanted to remember this wonderful service as part of our Christmas offering.
Our Global Community - Ukraine
Through the Bondarenko family we have links to many churches and organisations serving people in Ukraine. One of the projects we will support, provides hot meals for refugees and people in need, especially those close to the front line. Some of the funds will also be passed onto a church being run in a prison, in the town of Pereckrestovka. Every Sunday they are cooking hot meals for 50 prisoners with prisons struggling to provide food during the war. Andrey Bondarenko has visited many times for different projects and shares "I am so amazed how God is changing lives there through the prison church ministry!".
