At Woodside we teach the biblical principle of stewardship. We believe that everything we have belongs to God and we are only looking after, or are stewards of, what He has given us. It is with this in mind that we encourage people who call Woodside their home to give regularly and generously in proportion to their income. It takes resources to fulfil all that God has given us to do so let's ask God what we can do to play our part in giving to the work of Woodside Church.
We recognise that your personal circumstances will affect how you are able to give. If you are in a difficult time financially, please don’t feel under any obligation – we believe you should only give out of what you have. Feel free to ask for prayer on a Sunday or in your group, or to talk to a leader if you are struggling financially or with debt.
Many give directly from their bank account by regular Standing Order. Tithing (giving 10% of our income) is a commitment that many of us at Woodside have decided to undertake.
As mentioned above, we ask all those who call Woodside their 'home' to prayerfully consider the amount that they give regularly - and to review that sum as their situation may change. Responsible, joyful giving is one of the marks of a believer!
It is only a small finance team who are aware of what people give. The elders do not know, and do not want to know this information.
There are three main ways to give at Woodside:
Giving through internet banking minimises our administrative costs, so please consider these means in the first instance.
Giving in this way means that those who have responsibility for looking after the finances at Woodside have the benefit of knowing – in all likelihood - the amount that will be available each month.
If you would like to make a one-time donation you can do so via online bank transfer.
When setting up a standing order, or for online banking, our account details for this are as follows:
Giving by text is easy
To give £5 - text WOOD5 to 70970
To give £10 - text WOOD10 to 70191
To give £20 - text WOOD20 to 70191
To give £30 - text WOOD30 to 70191
Fundraising, payments and donations will be processed and administered by the National Funding Scheme (Charity No: 1149800), operating as DONATE. Texts will be charged at your standard network rate. For Terms & Conditions, see www.easydonate.org
We also take an offering at every Sunday meeting, if you would prefer to give in this way.
